Less skincare
I love my morning skincare routine, however if I’m wearing a full face in the heat and want it to stay in place, I will wear just SPF under my makeup. I ensure I use a face oil to give me all the moisture the night before so that my skin is hydrated enough to just wear SPF the next day. If you have drier skin you may need to still use a face cream but opt for a gel formula so you get the added hydration without a rich texture.
Avoid Concealer that is too creamy
Always remember… the easily it blends on the easier it blends off! With concealer I love to use a full coverage concealer that has a good staying power to ensure it stays put. Avoid those creamy concealer that blend in a dream in usual climates as they are going to slide right off during humid weather.
Opt for a powder foundation
Never did I think I would love a powder foundation! It still wouldn’t be my everyday go to (I love me the ease of a foundation stick too much!!), however when humidity hits, it’s now a firm favourite. In the heat your skin produces more moisture therefore creating the glowing finish you would get with liquid whilst giving you the staying power of a powder.
Use a Setting Spray to set
I don’t really use primers or setting sprays usually, I feel if you get the right moisturiser/foundation combo you shouldn’t need them, however in warmer climates I am aware we need a little extra help. A makeup setting spray with SPF is my go to as it helps to secure my makeup whilst allowing me to top up my SPF. None of us are going to reapply a cream SPF on top of our makeup so an SPF mist is genius and a must have to keep with you on the go.
