This week I was lucky enough to be able to bring my gorgeous mum to work with me and experience Mothers Day treats at Selfridges Oxford St.
A day of quality time having the Ultimate Girly Day! Here is what we got up to…
‘How to get ready in 5 minutes’ makeup lesson
Our first stop was to try out the new and exclusive Cushion Compact foundation. I got my hands on this foundation a few months back and haven’t used anything else since! I knew my mum would also love it so I booked us in for a ‘How to Get Ready in 5 minutes’ makeup lesson at the Bobbi Brown counter with Amarpreet and Jacinta (Bobbi Brown Artists) to try it out. If you are a lover of fresh, glowing foundation with a skin like finish, this is definitely for you!! Zero fuss foundation that takes 2 minutes to apply giving a healthy skin finish, I think she loves it even more than me!
We are wearing shade ‘Medium’. The girls applied Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm as a base beforehand ( for more on this dreamy base product click here).
You can book your very own ‘How to get ready in 5 minutes’ lesson at any Bobbi counter, book online or in store.
Lunch at the Aubaine Restaurant
One of the prettiest little restaurants I have come across in London! I have always loved the food at other Aubaine restaurants, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found this little hidden gem in the Shoe Galleries at Selfridges Oxford St.
Aubaine is a modern French bistro, and has interiors as good, if not better, than the tasty food. A light, airy space with exposed pipes, tiled floors and a ceiling of Wisteria – an Instagrammers dream!
My mum went for the Goats Cheese salad and I had the Tuna Salad, we were having a healthy day (ignore the side of chips!).
Blowdries at the Daniel Galvin Salon
After lunch we headed to the hair salon for a wash and blow dry. Being from Liverpool (blow-dry heaven) I have majorly struggled to find a salon in London that gives a great blow dry with round brushes rather than a curling wand, but Georgi and Fraser definitely lived up to our expectations, in minimal time.
Cocktails at ‘The Fount’ in the Selfridges Accessories Hall
What better way to end our girly day out than with a cocktail or two. The Fount is a new cocktail bar in the heart of the accessories hall (A Cocktail bar next to Chloe is definitely a lethal combo!).
The point of difference with The Fount is that it is a ‘water infused’ cocktail bar, said to not give you a hangover!! All cocktails are light and hydrating rather than the opposite. They are also all served with a water glass that is constantly filled up by the attentive bar staff.
We started with a Weston Spritz (the red gin based cocktails below) and then a Crystal Lyon made with sparkling vodka.
As the cocktails are water based and hydrating (definitely counting towards your 2ltrs a day), we finished our day with a glass of bubbles before venturing home.
A massive thank you to Selfridges for having us celebrate Mothers Day in store, and the lovely Chloe for organising!
Lastly, a special thank you to my partner in crime, my gorgeous mum! I am forever grateful for everything you do for me, and feel very lucky to have you.
