HOW TO WEAR SPARKLE EYE SHADOW

I’m Wearing:

Stick Foundation in Natural / Bronzing Powder in Stonestreet / Pot Rouge for cheeks / Moonglow Highlighting Powder /  Lip Pencil  in Rum Raisin / Lip Balm / Caviar and Rubies Eye Palette / Black Ink Gel Liner / Smokey Eye Mascara

When it comes to eyeshadow everyday, I am a little lazy. My go to look is always a nude eye (Vanilla Cream Shadow Stick) with a bold lip – but when it comes to party season, I do love a sparkle shadow or two!

Sparkle Shadow can add instant glamour to your everyday makeup, so it is the perfect party partner to take you from office to out out.

‘But doesn’t sparkle make you look older?’

I get asked a lot. Absolutely not, it actually has the opposite effect! Metallic shadows can be slightly ageing, but Sparkle shadows brighten and lift the eye area diffusing the look of any lines and wrinkles.

‘How do you balance the rest of your makeup with a sparkle shadow?’

I only wear sparkle in one place, whether its a sparkle shadow, sparkle lip colour, or sparkle blush (This does not include highlighting powder, as that is allowed ANYTIME). Wearing sparkle in one place allows that one product to pop for maximum impact.

‘How is best to apply sparkle shadow?’

Sparkle is best applied with fingers. You want to pack lots of sparkle onto your ring finger and then press onto your eye lid. Try not to blend back and forth as sparkle has the tendency to do its own thing, and you will have a sparkly cheek in no time.

‘What colour sparkle will suit me?’

With makeup there are never any rules. If you like a colour, you can wear it, whatever your skin tone or eye colour. There are however certain shades that make your eye colour pop. I love Silver Lilac for green eyes, Baby Peach for blue eyes, and Mica for brown eyes. An all time favourite for any eye colour is All Spice for a more intense sparkle.

‘Do you wear anything underneath your sparkle shadow?’

I always wear a cream shadow stick underneath my sparkle to neutralise my eyelid and give the sparkle something to stick to for a long wearing finish. Sparkle worn alone doesn’t give much colour, so you can create a variety of looks from just one sparkle by mixing up the base.

Vanilla Cream Shadow stick gives the bright sparkle finish I am wearing in this post. Or if I wanted to step away from my beloved Vanilla for something more intense, I could layer the same sparkle on top of Rich Caviar Cream Shadow Stick and get a bolder smokey finish.

Any other sparkle questions I haven’t covered, please get in touch and I will be sure to help!

Now lets get experimenting with sparkle…
