New Years Eve – That one night of the year you can go OTT with your outfit and/or makeup and not feel overdressed!
Here is my step by step guide on how to glam up your daytime makeup into this simple, yet impactful smokey eye look in 10 minutes!

EYE LIDS
I always start with eyes when doing a smokey eye! It gives a much fresher finish when you touch up your concealer and foundation afterwards.
Create a bold line using Black Gel Liner starting at the outer corner of the eye first, gliding inwards. Once this has been applied press your Serpentine Luxe Shadow over the whole lid, diffusing the top edge of the liner. Avoid your lash line as you want to keep this as matte black as possible.
To soften your Luxe Shadow into your crease, use a Matte Eye Shadow that is a slightly brighter shade than your skin tone. I love to use Ivory.
Once this has been applied, go in with your liner a second time to ensure your liner gives maximum impact.
LOWER LASH LINE
I use my Mahogany Brow Powder for my lower lash line when creating a smokey look!
Use a classic Eye Shadow Brush and lightly blend the colour along the whole lower lash line concentrating on the outer corner (this should meet the edge of were your winged liner begins).
Make sure the brush you use has a large head to it for a smokey finish. A smaller brush creates a neat line, which we don’t want for the lower lash line.
Finish with Black Ink Gel Liner onto the waterline for added definition.
REFRESH YOUR SKIN
I always add a little Illuminating Moisture Balm to my base to refresh my skin first and add a little moisture. This works wonders on top of everyday makeup. Warm up in your hands and then apply lightly all over your base for instant glow.
Touch up with a little Stick Foundation were needed and Instant Full Cover Concealer under the eyes. I use a Full Coverage Face Brush to blend this all into the skin.
I finish my base with a little Highlighting Powder for added glow. You want to keep your base super glowing when wearing a smokey eye, and highlighting powder layered with Illuminating balm gives you just that! I currently use ‘Opal Glow’ Highlighting powder for a blush and highlight in 1 product.
STRENGTHEN YOUR BROWSÂ
What works in your brows everyday, is not going to be enough when wearing a smokey eye. Be sure to apply a little extra brow product to balance out your brows giving added definition.
I love Mahogany Eye Shadow applied with my Brow Groomer Brush.
FINISH WITH LIPS
Try to avoid a bold, full coverage matte lipstick with a smokey eye. A sheerer, softer finish compliments this look so much more!
My absolute favourite combo on my lips with this look is Rum Raisin Lip Pencil, with a Lip Balm! This creates a defined, healthy lip look without taking any focus away from your eyes.
Apply the pencil around the outside of your lips first, followed by drawing a little colour onto your lips. Blend this all together with lip balm…
