3 WAYS TO ADD GLOW TO YOUR MAKEUP

3 WAYS TO ADD GLOW TO YOUR MAKEUP

During the winter months, our skin is naturally drier, duller, and always in need of a little pick me up! Skincare is the secret weapon to creating glowing makeup  (my winter skincare tips here) but illuminating balms help you fake that glow instantly.

Here are my 3 favourite ways to add glow…

1  Apply Illuminating Balm all over your skin as a primer

After your skincare routine, apply 2 pumps of illuminating balm as a primer to your makeup. This allows your foundation to glide on with added radiance, and the colour corrective pigments even out your skin tone creating that flawless finish. Perfect for a drier skin type,  if you are combination be sure to set with powder! Using illuminating balm all over the skin can add a lot of moisture so you want to make sure you keep your foundation in place.

2  Mix Illuminating Balm into your foundation

If you feel like you are applying your foundation and its looking flat and lifeless this is definitely the trick for you! This is great for sheering out the coverage of your foundation and adding glow for those no makeup makeup days. Warm up some Illuminating Balm on the back of your hand and then mix in a little of your foundation. This gives you coverage from your foundation, along with a healthy finish from your balm.

3 Apply Illuminating Balm on top of your makeup

This works well on a combination to oily skin, allowing you to add glow to targeted areas rather than all over. Always warm up balm textures before application. Once warmed, you want to press into your skin over the areas you wish. (Cheekbones, bridge of the nose, cupids bow) I love layering a little at the very end of my makeup routine. I wear highlighting powder, but don’t like a powdery finish, so pressing balm on top gives me a skin like glow.
