A mud mask is one of my favourite Sunday rituals!!
Throughout the week, especially working in the city, I feel my skin has a build up of pollution and excess oil leading to my skin feeling slightly congested.
A mud mask is the ultimate skin saviour to detox and purify your skin ready for a fresh week.
If you have combination to oily skin mud masking is key, drier skin types can definitely benefit from it, but I wouldn’t say it is as essential.
I like to double cleanse prior to mud masking to ensure my skin is super clean before application. I use a Cleansing Oil to remove my makeup followed by a Micellar water to ensure no residue is left and the remains of any mascara gone.
I then start applying my mud mask. Apply all over for the ultimate detox, or if you have certain areas that produce excess oil or you get blocked pores use in targeted areas. Leave on for 10 to 15 mins then wash off.
TIP: Don’t apply whilst in the bath as the steam from a hot bath doesn’t allow the mask to set. I apply whilst the bath is running, allowing the mask to set and detox my pores, then after the 15 minutes jump in the bath and wash off.
