GIRLS WEEKEND AT THE FARMHOUSE

GIRLS WEEKEND AT THE FARMHOUSE

A couple of weeks ago my girls and I spent the weekend together at Soho Farmhouse celebrating the first of the 30th birthdays. How is it that time already?!

I have been lucky enough to visit this place a few times before with work. Whether that be supporting an event with our lovely PR team or getting a bride ready for her big day (wedding venue heaven)

I have loved every trip but was dying to indulge on a girly getaway! We couldn’t of wished for a better location to celebrate together, and here’s why…

The location

Set across 100 acres of Oxfordshire countryside. As soon as you pull through the wooden gates, you are immediately inside the Soho Farmhouse bubble. Park up and head into The Gatehouse to check in over a glass of vino whilst your luggage is loaded onto your very own milk float that will take you to your cabin. Our driver was the lovely Freddy, who was then our point of contact and on hand for anything we needed for the rest of our stay.

Where to stay

When it comes to where to stay, you have a variety of different cabin options to choose from depending on your group size. As a party of 6 we stayed in the 3 bedroom cabin, set over 2 floors, each room with its own bathroom and an open plan lounge and kitchen. If you were going as a couple, you can choose either one of the studio cabins or tipi tents (the glamping kind)

I LOVE: The attention to detail during your stay. We were asked for our shoe size beforehand and the name of each guest. Upon arrival at the cabin, we each had a pair of fresh green hunter wellies and a personalized push bike for use during our stay.

Eat / Drink

The 2 story Main Barn is somewhere you can visit morning noon and night serving well loved British classics and local beers and cocktails. There are other places to eat (The Japanese Grill, The Farmhouse Deli and more) but I find the Main Barn so cosy I never want to leave!

It has a mezzanine level which they have named ‘Comfy Farm’. This is a little secluded area with a table to dine at, and then a section of snug sofas around a blazing wood fire to laze around after dinner with a cocktail (or two). This is the area we pre-booked for our girls dinner and it was perfect.

Cocktail to try: For Vodka and Gin lovers – The Eastern Standard. Choose your spirit, and have it with a splash of lime, cucumber and mint! Warning – They are totally addictive and go down a little too easily!!

I Love: For breakfast, just when we thought fresh milk delivered to your door in the morning was the best thing ever…

We discovered the option of the breakfast truck!

This is a truck that comes to your cabin and cooks you breakfast! You choose from an extensive menu of ‘Farmhouse Favourites’, classic breakfasts and fresh juices. The breakfast truck then creates your order and delivers to your cabin along with fresh coffee. The best way to start the day! It also means you get a little longer in those marshmallow like beds and your Soho Home robes…

The Spa

After the breakfast truck delivery, we continued to stay in our robes and made our way over to the Cowshed spa.

I would recommend getting to the spa at least one hour before your treatments so you can lap up the relaxing surroundings and visit the island or the boat house.

The Island is an outdoor area with hot tubs, sauna, steam room and ice room (not needed in November!!)

The boathouse is home to an indoor – outdoor infinity pool overlooking the lake.

It was pouring down with rain when we were there, but that didn’t stop us spending some time in the pool and hot tub!

Treatments – I went for the Pedicure. Not something I usually choose, but after being told so much about the ‘Signature Cowshed Pedicure’ I had to try it out.

The treatment includes your classic nail care followed by a relaxing leg and foot massage. Afterwards, the feet are wrapped in a hydration mask whilst you get a scalp and shoulder massage. This is then finished with your chosen polish. PEDICURE HEAVEN!

The Signature Cowshed Pedicures are also available at The Cowshed Spa in Selfridges, definitely worth a visit.

After our treatments, we relaxed in the spa lounge and order drinks over from the Main Barn. We went for one last cocktail (obvs) before our trip came to an end…

The girls and I are always on the look out for where to go next, let us know of any UK breaks you would recommend to try?!

No, you can still book a stay if you are not a member but not go for the day. You have to be a member to just visit for lunch etc.
