WHAT FACE MASK SHOULD YOU BE USING?

WHAT FACE MASK SHOULD YOU BE USING?

Applying a face mask is something I look forward to doing weekly as part of my Sunday evening routine. Removing those impurities that have built up during a week of working in the city, and setting my skin up for the week ahead.

There is no better makeup day than the morning after masking!

I am still always amazed at how much of a difference a face mask can make when used correctly. I always give my skin a deep cleanse at least once a day, always tone/moisture twice a day, so never thought a mask would make that much of a difference – Until I tried multi masking with formulas that suited my skin type… and WOW, I am now a true convert!

BUT WHAT DOES A MASK DO?

A mask is a skin treatment that is created to work intensively on your area of concern in minimal time.

Their benefits vary depending on the formula you choose. I would strongly recommend investing in a mask if you are concerned with any of the following:

–  Oiliness

–  Dehydration

– Blemish prone skin

– Blocked Pores

– Dullness

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU USE THEM?

I personally like to mask once a week! It is so important to create a little ‘Me Time’ each week to treat yourself, and your skin.

I like to apply my mask just before I get into the bath. I can then have a 15 minute soak whilst my mask gets to work. All masks I recommend in this post are to be used for no longer than 15 minutes, as you know I love time efficient beauty solutions.

TIP: If using a mud mask, be sure to apply before you get into the bath and let it set before you soak. Mud masks need to dry and set on your skin for maximum results and the steam from a bath doesn’t allow this to happen.

WHAT FORMULA IS BEST SUITED TO YOU?

The Clay Mask

Perfect for someone concerned with oiliness. This mask absorbs excess oil from the surface of the skin, along with removing any impurities that have built up.

Also a must have for someone that works in a city and needs to detox their skin!

Instant Detox Face Mask

The Nourishing Mask

The ultimate face mask for drier or dehydrated skin types. Nourishing face masks are like a drink of water for the skin, instantly quenching thirst and comforting any sensitivity.

The perfect mask for the colder months when we all need a little added nourishment to our skincare routine.

You may find with a lot of nourishing masks you don’t have to remove them once applied. Allow your skin to drink up the moisture and massage in any excess.

Baby soft skin will be waiting for you in the morning!

The Mud Mask

Do you suffer with acne, monthly breakouts or blocked pores? A mud mask is the formula for you!

Designed to remove all toxins from the skin, create a clearer complexion and tighten pores. Mud masks do a great job of clearing up any blemishes and giving skin a fresh looking finish.

Be warned, they have the tendency to tingle as they set due to the active ingredients, but they work wonders on treating the skin.

Mud masks can be used as an all over treatment, or as an on the spot treatment for that certain time of the month a breakout decides to appear.

The Exfoliating Mask

Calling anyone that is wanting to boost radiance within their skin!

The face mask I believe everyone should have in their skincare wardrobe. An exfoliating mask works on buffing away dead skin cells and revealing smoother, brighter looking skin.

This is also a great time saver for someone that wants a super streamlined skincare routine. You get all the benefits of a skin exfoliator and face mask in one.

Exfoliating masks not only boost radiance, but allow all of your other lotions and potions you apply afterwards to work deeper into the skin giving you stronger benefits all round!

WHAT IS MULTI MASKING?

Multi Masking is you creating a personalised masking routine by using different masks on different areas of the face depending on your concerns. Don’t fall into the trap of using the same mask all over.

For example, I can get an oilier t zone, but my cheeks are always dehydrated. I like to apply a clay mask through the t zone to absorb excess oil, and then treat my cheeks to a more nourishing formula to combat dehydration.
